Irumudi Final BO: Ravi Teja Just Short of Allu Arjun?

Ravi Teja’s Irumudi has wrapped up its theatrical run with an outstanding worldwide gross of around Rs. 240 crores, according to trade estimates.

The film collected approximately Rs. 217 crores from India, while the overseas market contributed around Rs. 23 crores (roughly USD 2.4 million).

In the Telugu states, Irumudi finished with around Rs. 194 crores gross. At one point, the film looked like it will cross the Rs. 200-crore mark in AP/TS. However, the run eventually slowed down after OTT premiere, leaving it just short of the milestone.

Interestingly, the film’s footfalls tell an even bigger story.

Irumudi reportedly sold around 1.45 crores tickets, which is higher than many top-grossing films in the Telugu states. It came close to Pushpa 2, which reportedly had around 1.50 crore tickets sold in AP/TS.

The difference is mainly due to ticket pricing.

Irumudi was released with relatively normal ticket prices, while most of the other films in the top-grossers list benefited from significant ticket price hikes. As a result, Irumudi managed to reach a similar audience footfalls despite earning nearly Rs. 150 crores less than Pushpa 2.

The current top five highest grossing films in AP/TS are RRR, Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, Kalki 2898 AD and Peddi.

Worldwide, the top five remain Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2, RRR, Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar.

For Irumudi, the final Rs. 240 crores worldwide gross and 1.45 crores admissions make its theatrical run spectacular. The film may have missed the Rs. 200-crore AP/TS milestone, but its ticket sales show that audience actually turned up in massive number for Ravi Teja.
