Is Anjali best as second fiddle?

One of the few talented actresses in southern industry is Anjali, who is known for films such as “Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu” and “Journey”. She has the looks as well talent, but seldom do we see her in lead roles, especially films featuring bigger heroes. Known mostly for playing second heroines in bigger projects, is Anjali getting typecast as the best second fiddle in the industry?

Anjali is known to play any role effortlessly. Be it a role with a shade of humour in “Crazy” or a challenging role in “Shopping Mall”, she can pull it off with utmost ease. Thanks to commercial cinema, most of the time Anjali is only looked down upon as a second heroine.

Even in upcoming films such as “Golmaal”, “Balupu” and “Muni – 3”, we will see Anjali in the second heroine’s roles. Is this the way of recognizing and honoring talent? Let’s hope our producers and directors give her roles with some weightage.
