Is Freedom of Press applicable for T-News?

APCID had pushed a notice to T-News for illegally leaking an audio tape of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu with an intention to defame a democratically elected government and to disturb the peace of the people. No sooner the notices were served to T-News, the channel began to shout the slogans of ‘Freedom of Press’ and started terming it as attack on Telangana Journalists and society.

However T-News claims seem to be totally meaningless. It had crossed all the bars of Press responsibilities and is now trying to take shelter under ‘Freedom of Press’. How did T-News access to the tape of Chandrababu without tapping or stealing from the custody of ACB or the court? And when the channel is operating from a political party office, we will not get any prizes for guessing the intentions behind the leak?

When criticizing the Cash for Vote scam, T-News always said that it is the issue of individuals and cried foul that TDP is making it a clash of two states. But what T-News is doing today is the same. The notice is against the faulty operations of the channel and is nothing like attack on Telangana society or Telangana journalists and the channel should face it alone with out making it a crisis between two states?
