Is Mahesh Babu’s USA Market Still Strong?

Once a ruler of the U.S. market, Mahesh Babu used to draw families to theaters during his movie releases in the U.S. His popularity extended even to the kids born in the U.S.

However, the question arises: Does Mahesh still command the same influence in this market as before?

Trends have evolved, and even small films grossing half-a-million are commonplace now, with crossing a million being prestigious but not rare anymore.

When it comes to Mahesh, his highest-grossing film, Bharat Ane Nenu ($3.4 Million), was released five years ago. Have the film choices he made since then affected his market?

None of his movies since 2018 has entered the $3 Million club. Even his recent release, Guntur Kaaram, paired with a director like Trivikram, failed to create a premiere record and crashed once the talk was out.

One thing is certain: Times have changed, and trends have shifted. Teja Sajja’s Hanuman nearing $5 Million indicates what people prefer these days.

Consecutive unexciting scripts and messages in every film have undoubtedly impacted Mahesh’s U.S. pull.

Luckily, his next project is with Rajamouli, so there shouldn’t be a problem. Otherwise, if it were with any other director, Mahesh might struggle to touch or create any records in this market based on his last few films.
