What’s interesting is that despite both being Tamil remakes and lacking exciting content, Pawan Kalyan performed much better than his brother Chiranjeevi at the box office. Both films resulted in losses for buyers.
Hits and flops are common, but failures like Bhola Shankar set milestone records by surpassing even the most significant box office failures.
Take the US box office, for instance. Bhola Shankar did not even earn $500K, whereas Pawan Kalyan’s BRO made $1.4 million. Although BRO was also a loss venture everywhere, it managed to attract audiences at least until the first weekend.
The only difference is that Bhola Shankar was met with outright disastrous reviews, which Chiranjeevi couldn’t save, while Pawan Kalyan, despite negative feedback, managed to generate some revenue.
