Is Winner Releasing At Wrong Time?

A few days ago hero Sai Dharam Tej said that Winner would take him to a different league. Looking at the expectations on the film and general interest along with the forthcoming line up ‘Nakshatram’ from the actor, one wonder if he meant a different league but downwards?

The promotions and trailer for the film Winner have been weak. The trailer gives an impression that it is another average fare even with a different backdrop of horse racing. Also, there is a general trend wherein a gap of few weeks only one average movie gets lapped up while another film on similar level fares poorly.

The competition among the Sai Dharam Tej league is hot right now with Nani and Sharwanand scoring huge career biggest hits. Even Sai Dharam Tej had one with Supreme but it came with the backing of big banner and top young director. With the same banner and lesser popular director, the other actors have scored even bigger hits.
