IT: Women dominates Men!

It is not a hidden fact that the pay gap between men and women is large in many sectors but the Hyderabadi women have at least something going for them. In Hyderabad, a career in IT will pay higher salaries to women as compared men, quite contrary to what it is in other metropolitan cities.

According to a survey conducted recently ‘iimjobs’, women working in IT sectors mostly receive a yearly package of Rs. 9.7 lakh as compared to men’s Rs. 9.4 lakh. Also, the salaries of their male counterparts increase by 22 per cent with time and experience while for women it’s a 33 per cent hike. The survey had about 96,000 participants belonging to different sectors in different places including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata.

Aside from the IT sector, females also have the upper hand in Marketing, Advertising, and PR. However, in areas like taxation and accounting and places like Mumbai, men still earn more than women.
