It’s Not Only a Rape Poster of Amala Paul

The first look poster of Amala Paul‘s upcoming Tamil film ‘Aadai’ has set the critics thinking and drawing many conclusions from the metaphor the poster is trying to depict. One such conclusion was that it was a rape poster and Amala Paul was seen in a bruised condition because she was a rape victim.

Responding to this point of view, the writer and the director of ‘Aadai’ Ratna Kumar clarifies that it wasn’t just a rape poster. There is more to it and the movie is going to deal with many things besides taking revenge against the wrong-doers. Here, in the film, the director is going to deal with the freedom of speech and expression, one of our fundamental rights and also the availability of free data.

So, he is going to address various things like the limits and boundaries of the freedom of expression in the scenario of the availability of free data. That means he could be addressing the issues related to the social media issues and the way the internet has become a vulnerability. Having a talented actress Amala Paul at his behest, Rathna Kumar’s first look poster has raised expectations on this artistic film.
