The G.O. will be out later in the day and the rules may come in force immediately. This will be a big blow to the Sankranthi release, particularly to Nagarjuna‘s Bangarraju. 50% occupancy topped with no night shows because of night curfew will be a big deal-breaker.
Akkineni fans hoped that the restrictions will be delayed at least until the festive season since Nagarjuna is close to Jagan. But it has been proved that is not going to be the case. It has to be seen what the filmmakers decide about their film releases.
In all probability, small films like Rowdy Boys, Hero, and Super Machi may go forward with their release. This development has come just four days before the Sankranthi releases. All the films have already spent considerable time, money, and effort in promoting the film. The only positive is Telangana has no such restrictions for now.
We may see a dull phase in the industry after the festive season until the situations get better.
