Rajinikanth-Vidya Balan Flirting: What Was Nelson Thinking?

Jailer 2 Vidya Balan scenes spark debate

Right from the first show of Rajinikanth’s anticipated sequel Jailer 2, social media has been flooded with lots of discussions and reviews of the film.

Even though the majority of reviews and discussions for Jailer 2 are positive, some viewers feel that Nelson Dilipkumar misstepped with Vidya Balan’s characterization in the film.

While audience perspectives are steadily evolving in a more progressive direction, with people expecting lead characters to be socially responsible and genuine green flags, Nelson Dilipkumar made a wrong move by scripting unnecessary, misogynistic reactions for Rajinikanth toward Vidya Balan’s character.

Many viewers feel that Nelson overstepped the mark with Vidya Balan‘s character arc, using her merely as a plot device to provoke misogynistic reactions from Rajinikanth’s Tiger Muthuvel Pandiyan character.

Furthermore, they highlight a specific scene where Rajinikanth stares at Vidya Balan’s cleavage and remarks super, arguing that Nelson made a huge mistake and should have avoided staging such a cheap scene.

Additionally, some audiences found the entire flirtatious track between Rajinikanth and Vidya Balan were cringe, suggesting that Nelson should have written a powerful role for Vidya Balan of her caliber, rather than using her just as a glam women in a Villain’s gang.

Ultimately, Vidya Balan’s characterization in Jailer 2 has triggered severe criticism against Nelson Dilipkumar on social media and many people are sharing their responses on it.
