January 2019 – A Mega War Of Biopics

The trend of biopics is on in all the industries, so many of them are on floors currently. A few among them, starring big names and based on popular personalities are going to come around the same time, in fact in the same month vying for the audience attention.

In Telugu, we have Nandamuri Balakrishna doing the biopic of legend NTR. It will arrive for Sankranthi 2019. There is also a chance of YS Rajasekar Reddy’s Yatra to make it to the festival release, in case it doesn’t come earlier. Interestingly, the director of NTR, Krish will have another release within two weeks in the same month. The second release will be Manikarnika, the story of legendary queen Rani Lakshmi Bai.

Clashing with Manikarnika will be the Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 that is a biopic of mathematician Anand Kumar. That is not the end. There is Thackeray, a movie on iconic politician Bal Thackeray where Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the title role. These three movies will arrive on Republic Day, 2019.
