Since her conviction on 27th September, Jayalalitha has been put up in the jail of Parappanna Agrahara Central Prison in Karnataka. While there is a lot of unrest among her party activists regarding her arrest and there is growing anxiety for her bail plea to be taken up by Supreme Court on 17th October, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu seems to be maintaining serenity by staying indoors within the limits of her Prison jail.
According to the Prison officials, Jaya is leading a normal prisoner’s life…eating the same prison food like other common prisoners and following the rules of the prison comfortably. She isn’t coming out even to breathe fresh air. Communication with other prison officials is minimal except with the Prison doctor and nurses say the sources.
With bail plea to be taken up by Supreme Court on Friday and Karnataka government expecting TN governement to approach High Court to move Jayalalitha to TN, Jayalalitha’s silence and staying indoors only seems to be like calming herself down and focussing on foregoing the further proceedings regarding her conviction.
