After the massive success of RRR, many believed Jr. NTR would choose his next projects carefully and take his stardom to another level. However, things didn’t go as expected. His film Devara was successful at the box office but failed to meet expectations, and his Bollywood entry War 2, with Hrithik Roshan, also ended disastrously. More than the box office result, NTR faced heavy social media trolling, which came as a setback for both him and his fans.
Currently, NTR is working with Prashanth Neel, a director known for presenting mass heroes effectively. While fans hoped he would focus on strong South Indian projects, fresh rumors caused anxiety. Social media buzz claimed that NTR would act alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Pathaan 2, directed by Siddharth Anand. Given the success of Pathaan, the idea created hype, but it also raised fears of another risky Bollywood movie like War 2.
However, reliable sources have now completely denied these rumors. There is no truth to claims that Jr. NTR has agreed to be part of Pathaan 2. Sources close to both NTR and Yash Raj Films confirmed there were no discussions or plans. The news was fake and spread mainly for attention and online engagement.
In reality, YRF’s Spy Universe is currently focused on Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt, Bobby Deol, and Sharvari Wagh, scheduled for summer 2026. Scripts for future projects, including Pathaan 2, are not even finalized, making such casting speculation baseless.
While a Shah Rukh Khan and NTR collaboration sounds exciting on paper, it is not happening anytime soon. After the War 2 experience, NTR is reportedly not keen on Bollywood projects, especially under the YRF banner. For now, he appears focused on rebuilding momentum with the right South Indian scripts that have the potential to go pan-India rather than chasing risky Bollywood collaborations that don’t suit his body language. He wants to work only with directors who have been following his career since the start and understand his strengths and weaknesses.
