Ideally, had everything gone to plan, today would have been a huge day for Nandamuri fans as Jr NTR’s Devara would been gearing up for release. The film was originally announced for release on the 5th of April and hence, today, the 4th of April would have been a festival-like day for NTR’s fans.
But with the postponement of Devara to a later date, the April 5th slot was vacated and this is where Vijay Deverakonda came in. His Family Star is arriving in theaters on the 5th of April.
Ideally, Devara would have been Tollywood’s first superstar-headlined pan-Indian film to have its theatrical debut, and with the coming together of Tarak, Koratala, and Anirudh the expectations would have been high.
There should have been a whole lot of anticipation on the USA premiere numbers, domestic openings, and Hindi openings. Being Tarak’s immediate next film after RRR, Devara would have been the talk of the town by this time. However, with the postponement of Devara, Family Star occupied the slot and this film is in the limelight.
Devara has been pushed to October 10 and the Nandamuri celebrations have been delayed that much further. For now, we have Family Star which promises to be another commercial potboiler.
