NTR’s Rejection: Director Changed His Plans

Till the movie came to the theatres there was a small hope that Jr. NTR might have played Sr. NTR’s role in the biopic, ‘Mahanati‘. But, it remained just a rumour and as NTR said at the audio launch event, he didn’t dare to get into the shoes of his grandfather.

The director couldn’t convince NTR to play the role like he had convinced Naga Chaitanya to play legendary ANR. Nag Ashwin revealed that he has planned several things for NTR and those interesting scenes would have been the part of ‘Mahanati’ if NTR was there to play his grandfather.

So, he had used a body double and worked with computer graphics for the only scene he shot on Sr. NTR. After watching the movie, one would wonder why Jr NTR rejected the biopic. We have seen the young hero play his grandfather in several commercial movies with the desired impact.
