Kajal’s Exit, a Safe Call or Excuse?

‘Kalki’ has back fried for director Prasanth Varma as it wasn’t an out-of-the-box subject like ‘Awe’ or was a successful commercial entertainer. However, one must remember that his debut movie ‘Awe’ was a complex film showing his new-age talent.

His second attempt Kalki failed at the box-office. Kajal who was part of his debut movie playing a complex role was enthusiastic to produce and act in a film under Prashanth Varma’s direction.

But, she backed out as a producer and the project is waiting for a new producer. Though Kajal’s other commitments and lack of time for production are said to be the reason, it seems more because of ‘Kalki’ result that made Kajal to step down as a producer.

That means, Prashanth Varma has to prove that he isn’t a one-film wonder. Things like this do happen in the industry as one can’t put their hard earned money at risk when there seems to be no guarantee.
