Unnecessary Pressure On Sai Pallavi?

In a few hours from now, Sai Pallavi will have a new release and yet there is zero talk on the movie. The numerous delays are the primary reason but also the content has a lot to do with it.

Kanam, directed by AL Vijay is a serious film the likes of which need an extraordinary word of mouth to work at the box office. Based on the track record of the director, it looks unlikely, but nothing should be ruled out beforehand, so we wait and see. The pressure for success with a movie like this seems needless and somewhat unnecessary.

If Kanam fails to succeed, which is the likely scenario, it will be the first failure for Sai Pallavi. There is Kali, but that movie has a sensational opening which is not going to be the case here. Incidentally, the Tamil version of Kanam marks Sai Pallavi’s debut in Kollywood.
