Kanche holds strong – will it make TFI proud?

Everyone knows by now that Kanche the film is not your usual regular commercial film that hits screens week after week in Telugu film industry. This is a film with never before seen visuals in TFI and also consists of a content that makes people uncomfortable when watching. Keeping all this in mind many had written off the film before release itself.

True to such expectations Kanche had smaller release compared to the commercial flicks. But ever since the release the film has continued to surprise the trade by belittling the pre release expectations. The opening day of the film was strong courtesy of superb multiplex and ‘A’ centers participation. However it was credited to the big holiday it released on.

The real test was the second day performance which the film has passed with flying colors. Kanche has shown minimal drop on second day and has now entered the third day with excellent occupancies all over. The case has been the same in overseas as well where the film is expected to be a breakeven venture at the least for the distributors.

It is one thing making a film like Kanche and another to get a success out of it. If the film manages to achieve the latter, it would be a great achievement and proud moment for not just the individuals associated with the film but also Telugu cinema on the whole.
