Karnataka HC condemns Dhoni for hurting Hindu sentiments

Team India captain Dhoni was seen in the avatar of Lord Vishnu which appeared on the cover page of a popular magazine. It’s not his Lord Vishnu avatar which offended people but he was found holding several things in his hands and one of those things happens to be a shoe in the place Lord Vishnu’s ‘Chakra’.

Angered by Dhoni’s ad on the cover page, one Jayakumar Hiremath, a social activist filed a complaint on Dhoni for hurting the religious sentiments of people. When the case court came to Karnataka High Court for hearing, the justice, AN. Venugopal Gowda condemned Dhoni’s act.

The judge opined that celebrities like Dhoni are accepting to feature in advertisements without giving a thought to the consequences when they hurt the sentiments of people. Money is their priority to take such mindless decisions.

Dhoni’s advocate argued that the star cricketer shot for the advertisement free of cost. High Court ordered Dhoni to file an affidavit of the same argument and posted the case for 17th August.
