Karthikeya has grown up around one of Indian cinema’s biggest success stories, but his recent Don’t Trouble The Trouble promotions have shown remarkably little of the celebrity attitude one might associate with that background. Instead, he has come across as relaxed, candid and comfortable being himself.

That quality naturally brings Rajamouli into the picture. The filmmaker has reached a massive stature through films such as Baahubali and RRR, yet his public persona has largely remained understated. Karthikeya appears to have picked up that same quality from his father.

His recent interviews have been particularly telling. While promoting Don’t Trouble The Trouble, Karthikeya has spoken openly about the film, the challenges involved in making it and even moments when things did not go according to plan. There is no attempt to constantly lean on the Rajamouli name or present himself with unnecessary airs.

That makes his journey interesting. Karthikeya has the advantage of belonging to one of Indian cinema’s most recognised families, but he is gradually creating his own identity as a producer.

Perhaps the most valuable thing he inherited from Rajamouli isn’t just an understanding of cinema. It is the ability to remain grounded when the name itself carries enormous weight.

And that quality is becoming increasingly visible in Karthikeya’s own journey.
