Another Film Protests Against Censor

After facing lot of controversies over the release of the film Udta Punjab, the Censor Board has once again ran into trouble with a new Malayalam film Kathakali. The CBFC has apparently refused a certificate which has led the filmmakers to moved court against the board’s directive.

Due to the denial of censor certification for the film Kathakali, the entire Malayalam film industry is on crossroads with the regional office of the CBFC. The CBFC’s explanation for this denial is nudity content in the film. Meanwhile people from the film industries are staging protests outside the CBFC office in Kerala.

The filmmakers are of the view that that the board is involving unnecessary politics and are prepared to go to the High Court should the need be. Meanwhile CBFC is of the view that this is just a publicity stunt.
