KGF 2 Craze – Megastar At The Receiving End!

That KGF: Chapter 2 is one of the most crazily awaited movies of the year, needs no special mention. Still, here we have another example to demonstrate its craze among the distributors. The upcoming film of Bollywood Megastar Salman Khan, Radhe, is at the receiving end.

KGF: Chapter 2 will have a solo release in July. If you are thinking Salman Khan is clashing his Radhe with it, then you are wrong. KGF 2 still continues to have a solo presence. However, Salman Khan’s next comes with a clash, and there’s KGF 2 connection to it.

Salman Khan’s next Radhe is releasing on May 13th. It is his traditional Eid weekend movie. Usually, he gets it solo, but this time another biggie, John Abraham’s Satyamev Jayate 2 too is locked for the same date.

Given the star power of Salman Khan and the friendly terms he has with the distributors and exhibitors, he usually bulldozes through the competition. And it is here the KGF 2 connection comes to the fore.

Anil Thadani, who distributes KGF: Chapter 2, also is the person behind Satyamev Jayate 2. He has put a simple condition that if one wants to screen KGF 2, they will also have to give Satyamev Jayate 2 a fair amount of screens. The John Abraham film can’t be short-changed for the theatres.

The distributor can assert this confidently because he has the craziest film in his hand. He also has another one, Mumbai Saga, in his hands, but it is KGF 2 that is making the most noise.

It is a familiar practice followed by many in Bollywood when they have some big films in their kitty. Usually, they happen to be a Hindi movie, but in this case, it is KGF: Chapter 2. And unfortunately, Salman Khan is at the receiving end.

The whole issue presents another example of the massive hype the concluding chapter of KGF carries across India. The Prashanth Neel directorial starring Yash in the lead will hit cinemas worldwide on July 16th.
