We Knew Kalyan Ram’s Disaster Ahead of Release

He had three points written down in his book. He decided that he wouldn’t include those three points in the stories he writes. But, that writer had to cook up a story with those three points which he didn’t want to repeat in his stories because they were used up by other writers and those were others’ ideas.

The writer who said the above was Diamond Ratna Babu. The three points were, 1. A villain shouldn’t love the heroine (Okkadu film concept). 2. Hero shouldn’t go to villain’s house to play drama Kona Venkat and Srinu Vaitla comedy). 3. When a villain is killing someone, there shouldn’t be anyone there as a witness or clicking pictures.

But, the writer had to include all these points while writing for Kalyan Ram’s ‘Sher‘. He says that he frankly told the makers that this wouldn’t work. Ahead of release, even Kalyan Ram knew that ‘Sher’ would be a flop. There was a hope that it might be a hit. But, it turned out to be a flop.
