Most Flop Heroine Finally Scores Hit

In a surprising turn of events, Bollywood’s latest release, “Crew,” has made waves at the box office on its opening day. Starring Kareena Kapoor alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon, this crime comedy has garnered attention with its star-studded cast, captivating trailer, and hit songs.

On its opening day, “Crew” raked in an impressive 10.28 crores nett in India, surpassing expectations.

Even prominent male leads like Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor (TBMAUJ), Varun Dhawan (Bhediya), and Salman Khan (Antim) have struggled to achieve such numbers in the post-COVID era. The success of a movie led by three heroines is indeed remarkable.

For Kriti Sanon, who has faced a string of flops over the past two years with films like “Bachchan Pandey,” “Shehzada,” “Ganapath,” “Hum Do Hamaare Do,” and “Adipurush,” “Crew” comes as a much-needed triumph. Her previous release, “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljhaa Jiya,” was only average, but now, “Crew” has emerged as a hit.

However, along with Kriti, Kareena would also share the credit for the film’s success.

Internationally, “Crew” has also made a mark, becoming the highest Bollywood opener in the USA region for 2024, surpassing “Fighter” starring Hrithik Roshan.

Projections indicate that “Crew” is poised for a stellar first weekend, with expected earnings of around 35 crores.

Trade analysts anticipate that its lifetime box office collection could reach approximately 75 crores, especially considering its uninterrupted run until the release of “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
