Ladies Power Helping Oh Baby US Box Office

They say when a movie connects to the ladies and families, there is no looking back. It has been proved time and again with films like Mahanati, Geetha Govindam, and the very recent F2 (Fun N Frustration). Is the Samantha starrer Oh Baby going to join the list?

The US opening on the premiere makes one believe that Oh Baby might be in for a good run at the box office. The first day (Friday) number further adds to the belief. However, it will be the Saturday that would be the deciding factor to see where Oh Baby is headed too eventually.

Much has been said about Samantha’s star power. But that is the truth. The first day (Premiere + Friday) figure of Oh Baby is higher than any Naga Chaitanya film, for example, except Majili which incidentally also had Samantha, as the female lead.

Another additional factor here which many are forgetting is Nandini Reddy, who has a big success in the form of Ala Modalaindi and a moderately successful Kalyana Vaibhogame in her kitty. It is not as big as Samantha’s but is not to be entirely ignored, especially when the talk emerges positively.

Still, these are early days, and there is a lot of ground to be covered, but the signs are positive. Given the gloomy box office receipts at the US, one is always happy to see a well-liked successful movie.
