Lawrence Buys Superstar’s Movie Remake Rights

Back in 1982, Rajinikanth starrer ‘Moondru Mugan’ (meaning Mugguru Monagaallu in Telugu) scored a blockbuster and eventually became a cult movie. Rajnikanth did three roles in this mass entertainer which became a feast for his fans. This one had been one of the deciding films that gave Rajinikanth his Superstar status later.

Now, Lawrence Raghavendra got the remake rights of the superstar’s movie ‘Moondru Mugan’. He is considered lucky as many tried for the rights of the movie but failed. Though Lawrence turned director, he isn’t going to helm this project. Hence, he is on lookout for a director who can handle this remake to make it a commercially viable entertainer.

However, Lawrence is going to reprise all the three roles originally played by Rajinikanth and he is also going to co-produce the movie with S. Kathiresan. Meanwhile, they are working on the script of the remake to make changes and additions to suit the tastes of the present day audiences. At present, Lawrence completed shooting for his next release ‘Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva’.
