Leaving note on Whatsapp, boy hangs to death

It is constantly reported in the media that the number of teenage suicides are growing increasingly. The most recent incident of this was reported on Wednesday when a boy committed suicide in Delhi after leaving a note on Whatsapp. The boy hanged himself to death from a ceiling fan at his aunt’s house in East Delhi where he was living for the last few days.

The name of the boy was Swamim, although he was also known as Shanu and he was a student of class 9. He was found dead when his elder brother, Shikhar, who was sleeping in the same room woke up at midnight. He rushed to inform his aunt and they took him to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Investigation suggests that Shanu was upset over the strained relations between his parents and that might have driven him to take his own life.
