Leo’s Biggest Lesson For Telugu Heroes

The superb opening of the Tamil dubbed film Leo in the Telugu states is a testimony to the fact that Tamil stars and directors have made big ways into the Telugu audience’s minds and hearts.

What is more shocking is the fact that despite the extremely mixed talk, the youth audiences are thronging to the theaters to watch what director Lokesh Kanagaraj has made in the form of Leo.

The trade is shocked by the second-day collections of Leo in Telugu states, with theaters running full till Sunday in many parts of TS/AP.

The major outcome of this frenzy is that Tamil biggies might start even targetting Tollywood biggies starring top-tier heroes in the coming days during lucrative festive seasons like Sankranthi and Dussehra.

Furthermore, the Telugu film industry needs to acknowledge that, with the exception of a few like SS Rajamouli, it lags behind in technical brilliance when compared to Tamil cinema. Tamil filmmakers excel not only in background music, camera work, and action sequences but also in presenting ‘new age’ mass cinema stylishly. And there is no debate on this matter!

The Tamil heroes and directors are coming to dominate Telugu cinema in our own territories at a rapid pace. They are coming up with cinema that is catching the imagination of Telugu audiences in a much better way than Telugu filmmakers.

It’s time for Telugu heroes and filmmakers to start working on the departments that they need to update themselves if they have to keep the flag of Telugu cinema flying high.
