Liger USA: Huge Disaster!

Vijay Deverakonda aggressively promoted Liger and he felt this would be the big ticket film that would propel him to the big league. But the film is turning out to be a box office disaster both in the domestic market and also overseas.

The film collected a mere $28K on its first Sunday in the USA, taking the total tally to $746K. After taking a look at the all-important Sunday collections, it can be understood that the film’s run in the USA is all but over. After a positive start with the premieres, the film crashed big time and is now heading towards a big loss venture with the USA run coming to an end on the first Sunday itself.

The makers quoted a huge amount for the USA distribution rights but they then settled to release it on a percentage sharing basis. Regardless, the film is sure to incur huge losses for everyone involved.

It was extensively publicized that Liger’s worldwide rights are valued at Rs 90 crores. If that really is the case, the film is sure to end up as one of the biggest disasters of all time.
