Like RGV’s ‘Sridevi’, Puri’s ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’

Since many days there is a talk going on in the industry that Puri Jagannadh is going to make a biopic on ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’, the yesteryear popular item girl. And Charmee was roped in to play the character of ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’. Naturally the project aroused a lot of curiosity amongst the cine buffs because earlier Silk Smitha’s biopic ‘Dirty Picture’ had made sensational business in Bollywood.

News afresh, Charmee Kaur who was roped in to play Puri’s heroine gave clarity on the project that it is not the biopic on the yesteryear item diva and in any way remotely connected to her even. This is totally a fresh story written by Puri Jagannadh and Charmee is sweating off to shed her weight doing belly dancing, free style and sport a leaner look for the film.

Charmee’s clarity on the film’s subject implicitly indicates that Puri is travelling on the lines of RGV’s publicity strategy. Like RGV’s ‘Sridevi’ has no connection with actress Sridevi, Puri’s ‘Jyothi Lakshmi’ has neither. But as these two names happen to be the names of yesteryear super successful divas, the films are getting easy publicity. What say?
