Priyamani who enthralled Hindi audience with her item song in Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express has lot of hopes in Bollywood. ‘Gates will open very soon for me in Bollywood with my performance in the item song. I am thankful to SRK and director Rohit Shetty for giving me an opportunity in the movie,’ she said sharing her feelings with film journalists.
She is not jealous about the opportunities pouring on Ileana and Tamannaah while remembering that she acted in RGV’s Rakta Charitra and Mani Ratnam’s Raavan movies which were released in Hindi also. She does not want to use good offices of her cousin Vidya Balan to get chances in Bollywood. Vidya’s father and Priyamani’s Dad are cousins but she never spoke to Vidya, giving no scope that she was using latter’s influence to get chances in Mumbai.
Priyamani who acted in heroine oriented movies Charulatha and Angulike Chandee wants to do glamour roles again. It could be the reason for showing her glamour in a sporting bikini. ‘I don’t want to confine to women oriented films. I want to do all kinds of roles till my marriage. It will be after two years and It is going to be love cum arranged marriage,” she added. Meanwhile, will she get chance in Bollywood? Let us hope so.
