It seems the negative response to Coolie has impacted several projects. The latest casualty is the planned superhero film of Lokesh Kanagaraj with Aamir Khan, which has now been reportedly shelved.

When Vikram became a hit three years ago, audiences expected Lokesh to deliver something even better. But Leo got a mixed response and worked mainly due to the star power of Thalapathy Vijay.

Since Coolie failed to meet expectations, Aamir’s fans will miss the much-awaited collaboration. A similar situation happened with Salman Khan and Atlee, whose project was cancelled after Baby John flopped.

Both Aamir and Salman were ready to team up with Lokesh and Atlee. Such films could have pulled massive crowds, especially after Atlee’s presentation of Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan became a huge success.

Netizens are now blaming both sides for the cancellation of a project that could have generated major box office revenue.

Aamir’s cameo in Coolie faced criticism right after release. Many felt his talent was wasted, and his entry came when audiences were already losing interest in the film.

The film’s storyline also faced backlash for loopholes, and Lokesh was criticised for underusing a talented cast. Some even found the film boring.

Social media users are questioning Aamir for accepting the role. Others feel he should have directly collaborated with Lokesh in the superhero film, which would have fully focused on him.
