South Indian cinema has a very different approach when it comes to logistics and production activities as compared to the conventional Bollywood film making style. In Bollywood, there is apparently a lot of discipline in production and the timelines are very strict which is not the case with South.

For instance, we have the cases of Rajamouli, Sukumar and many others who are extremely particular film makers and spend years together on a single film.

While they might be ultimately delivering a solid product in the end, the hero will have to spend at least three years on each of these projects. This is not available time sensitive plan of action for the heroes particularly.

This is naturally bringing the demand for effective makers in South Indian cinema, and a few people are citing example of Lokesh Kanakaraj for the same.

Lokesh might not have a big thousand crore film like a Rajamouli or Sukumar, but he certainly can deliver a quality product if the hero monitors enough. Moreover, he has the capacity to execute big projects within a span of one year.

The way in which he completed big films like Leo and Coolie in a year in production is a testament to his refined working style and adherence to strict timelines. This is where he is scoring comfortably over his contemporaries.

While many other directors are spending years together on a single project and wasting the resources of producers and also heroes, it is Lokesh, who is getting things done quickly. This is something that will be in his favour.

These elongated timelines are likely to become a major cause of concern for many heroes in the days to follow, and there will be this growing demand on directors to upgrade their skills and complete projects quickly. The case of Lokesh Kanagaraj might be a case study for this.
