Ahead of Dear Comrade’s release Vijay Devarakonda, along with Rashmika Mandanna actively promoted the film. But the problem lied with the approach of Vijay and also the makers of the film. Now, Sekhar Kammula, and the team of Love Story is dropping a lesson or two in regard to the tone of promotions.
In the promotional interviews, Sekhar, Naga Chaitanya, and Sai Pallavi are asserting that the film will have a relevant social message and also address a couple of sensitive topics along with love story between the lead pair that binds it all together. They are preparing the audience for what is in store for them.
This way, the audience will come to the theatres, knowing the film is more than a plain love story. But that wasn’t the case with Vijay Deverakonda’s Dear Comrade.
All of Dear Comrade’s promotional events had a celebratory and lively vibe. So, audience were expecting a light hearted love drama. But that wasn’t the case. While the promotions had a celebratory vibe, the film was an intense and at times, dark love drama.
The audience walked into the cinema halls expecting a light hearted entertainer and they were served a completely different dish altogether. This was one of the main reasons why the film couldn’t strike a chord with the majority of the audiences.
Vijay should now take a cue from Love Story unit, who have been promoting the film in accordance with the theme.
