Ekta Kapoor’s “Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2” has stirred a buzz by featuring a transgender woman as the lead for the first time in an Indian film on the big screen.
Bonita Rajpurohit, a trans actor, will be seen essaying the character of Kulu in the film.
Ektaa R Kapoor’s track record of launching fresh faces, including Rajkummar Rao and Sushant Singh Rajput, adds Bonita to the list.
The upcoming film, “Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2,” follows the success of its predecessor, a sleeper hit from 2010 directed by Dibakar Banerjee.
Dibakar, known for his acclaimed films “Khosla Ka Ghosla” and “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!,” brings his expertise to this sequel.
The original film, “Love Sex Aur Dhokha,” garnered attention for its innovative storytelling, breaking new ground in Hindi cinema with its experimental approach. As a result, the audience is decently curious about the sequel.
“Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2” is set to hit theaters on April 19, 2024.
