MAA Elections: Results Will Be Delayed

Movie Artists Association (MAA) elections are happening tomorrow. Manchu Vishnu and Prakash Raj are the contenders for the President post. Both the sides were involved in a high voltage campaign for the last one month or so. Finally, it will now boil up to the mandate of 912 members of MAA.

The voting will take place between 8 AM and 2 PM tomorrow at Jubilee Hills Public School. The election officer has decided to hold the voting using Ballot papers. Initially, the voting was supposed to happen using EVMs but Vishnu objected and got Ballot papers.

Accordingly, the final results may also get delayed due to the counting. The result is now expected by 8 PM on Sunday. Even though there are over 900 members in MAA, the voting percentage is always just around 50%. Stars usually stay away from the election and then, there are many members who are inactive in the industry and they are many who are out of station.

Both the sides are trying to increase the voting percentage this time. Postal Ballot voting is also allowed for those who are aged more than 60 in the wake of COVID-19.
