Baahubali smashes satellite rights record

Whatever record the satellite right prices had before, all of those have been crushed by Baahubali. The film has been lapped up MAA TV for an all time record price of 30 Cr.

The 30 Cr satellite right price includes two parts of the film though. Even if one were to divide these into two parts, the individual film rights would still be a big record. No film prior to Baahubali has touched 11 Cr rights for single Telugu language so far.

What this has also meant is that fears of the fans of the rights going to a media baron’s channel have vanished. Fans had feared that if the rights were taken by that media baron the DVD’s of the movie may not be released.
