From the makers who have given blockbusters like KGF, Kantara, and Salaar; a new animated spectacle has hit the big screens. Hombale Films and Kleem Productions have released Mahavatar Narasimha which is directed by Ashwin Kumar.
The film is a part of a series that will showcase all the avatars of Lord Vishnu in animated form. It blends mythology and high end animation which is the biggest selling point of the project.
The first day collections are out and the film has bagged 2.29 crore rupees despite films like Saiyaara and Fantastic Four giving it a tough competition. The current booking trends also show a whopping booking rate of around 13 thousands bookings per hour.
The total two day collection is 4.6 crore rupees and fans are calling it a divine uprising. Animation in India did not have much luck in the past but this film has changed the trends.
The film is targeted at a pan-Indian audience in several languages but it is performing the best in the Hindi belt with 65% earnings coming from here. Now, the makers are also planning to translate it in international languages and push it on a global platform.
If the trend takes off, it will surely become a 100 crore grossing Indian animated film in no time as per the fans. On top of that, the initial reviews have been positive, people are enjoying the gripping narrative blended with equally interesting music and animation.
Films like Saiyaara and Mahavatar Narasimha are changing the wind at the big screens despite not being exceptional. At the end catering right niche of audience is the big lesson that makers need to learn.
