Mahavatar Narsimha has shocked trade experts by becoming one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time. The film has seen an overwhelming response in Hindi markets along with strong collections in other languages. Director Ashwin Kumar recently spoke about the audience reception since the film’s release. He shared that people are connecting emotionally, especially for their children, and described Mahavatar Narsimha as an inter-religious faith-based film.
Ashwin revealed that he interacted with many viewers, including Muslim audiences, who told him that watching the film strengthened their faith. He clarified that he was not encouraging anyone to convert but wanted people to understand the true meaning of faith. He explained that the story encourages surrendering to faith, whether one prays to God, believes in energy, or places trust in the universe.
Despite competing with other popular releases like Saiyaara and several Hollywood films, Mahavatar Narsimha delivered impressive box office numbers. Even major titles such as Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 fell short compared to its earnings. With more installments planned in the coming years, the film is expected to give a strong boost to India’s animated film industry.
As War 2 and Coolie prepare to hit theatres on August 14, 2025, it remains to be seen whether Mahavatar Narsimha can continue its record-breaking run.
