Mahesh’s Punch to Sukumar? Did He Mean It?

This is not the first event when Mahesh Babu said that director Vamsi Paidipally waited for approximately two years without doing any film in between after his super successful ‘Oopiri’. Mahesh mentioned it at ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ pre-release event and now, at the pre-release event of ‘Maharshi‘.

Precisely, last night he said, “When some directors can’t wait for two months, Vamsi Paidipally waited for two years.” Was this a dig at Sukumar who was supposed to direct Mahesh Babu but everything changed in the last minute? Many are assuming that Mahesh’s speech was an indirect punch to Sukumar.

Back then, Mahesh Babu cleared the airs quoting creative differences as the reason why he wasn’t doing the project with Sukumar and also wished him for his future endeavours. The director walked out of Mahesh’s project and went on to announce a film with Allu Arjun, very soon.

Coming to his speech, from what we have seen all these years, it’s unlikely that Mahesh Babu took a dig at Sukumar. It could just be a casual statement that came from him. Moreover, Mahesh wouldn’t do anything like targeting a director like Sukumar, on stage. Would he?
