Makes No Sense To Blame ‘Mythri’ Naveen

Tollywood’s Sankranthi frenzy is the hot topic now. The clash between Veera Simha Reddy, Waltair Veerayya, and Varasudu, which has Dil Raju’s backing and is locking substantially high number of theaters is the most talked about topic in Telugu circles.

Incidentally, senior producer Ashwini Dutt has commented about the same. He instated that TFPC should take back the statement on restricting dubbed films during Sankranthi festival season.

He faulted Mythri Movie Makers for locking two Sankranthi release slots for Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy.

But what needs to be noted here is that there’s nothing wrong in what Mythri are doing. They haven’t locked two slots by bulldozing anyone else. There’s no other Telugu biggie that could be lined up for release next Sankranthi.

What Mythri are doing is that they’re locking the two Sankranthi slots for two senior stars Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. It is not like they’re lobbying with other production houses and grabbing the release slot of any other film.

Moreover, this is headache that Mythri have to deal on their own. Releasing two big ticket films back to back with just days gap is no ideal for same production house.

They will have the same set of distributors and then have to orchestrate simultaneous release for two films with a lot of money involved. If anything, they’ll be at the losing end if things go wrong.

The statement from Dutt, saying locking two Sankranthi slots would’ve been validated had there been multiple biggies lined up for release and Mythri still persisted with two releases. With Adipurush postponed and Agent held back on their own, what Mythri are doing can’t be faulted.
