Megastar Winning Critic’s Battle

While it may be a dull weekend ahead or Telugu cinema, the Tamil cinema is going to witness the return of celebrated names after a very long gap to the big screens.

Malayalam Megastar Mammootty is coming with a direct Tamil film after ages. Similarly, director Rajeev Menon is arriving with a new movie after more than a decade and a half. Their films Peranbu and Sarvam Thalamayam are releasing on February 1st.

What is interesting here is that both the films have already been premiered in film festival circuits. Recently the Chennai press too had a given screening, and the response to both the movies is superb. However, director Ram’s Peranbu is getting a better mandate for its unique content and sensational performances. Megastar is winning rave reviews for his act. Is another National Award in the reckoning for him?
