Manjummel Boys is one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema this year. It also emerged as the highest-grosser in the Malayalam film industry’s history. Meanwhile, the film has now landed in legal trouble.
Recently, a person filed a petition at the lower court in Ernakulam stating that the producers cheated him after financing the film for Rs. 7 crores with a condition to get 40% shares in profits.
After examining the case, the court ordered to freeze all accounts of the film’s producers with immediate effect. Meanwhile, the makers are yet to respond to the issue.
Directed by Chidambaram, Manjummel Boys is a survival thriller which features Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Basi, Lal Jr and a few others in the lead roles. It collected more than 200 crores at the box office and became the highest-grosser in Malayalam cinema ever.
