US BO: Not So Good!

Another week and another set of small films have tested their luck. Among the 10 movies released last Friday, the only ones we actually remember are Mental Madhilo and Balakrishnudu. While Balakrishnudu was a washout at the US box office, surprisingly Mental Madhilo promoted heavily by several industry celebrities is not showing any great numbers.

Mental Madhilo collected $48 K from Saturday which is a key day at the US box office for Telugu films. So far, Mental Madhilo has collected $106 K which is not the number one would expect after all the hype around the small film and promotions.

Pelli Choopulu has collected $275 K by the first weekend and had a steady long run, went all the way to collect more than a million. But it is a different situation for Mental Madhilo at US box office. Adding to it there is Sai Dharam Tej’s Jawaan releasing next week. We will have to wait and see if it picks up during the second week in the US.

The other latest releases Balakrishnudu has grossed $20,000 and another small film Napoleon with a different concept has made $2,800.
