Next Biggie of the Year in South Impacted?

The biggies came for Dussehra and almost went away. The only big movie which is getting ready for release in the South Film Industry is the Tamil movie ‘Mersal’, dubbed as ‘Adirindhi’ in Telugu starring Vijay Ilayapathy in the lead.

With the mass star as the lead and three reputed heroines namely Samantha, Nitya Menon and Kajal Agarwal, ‘Mersal (Adirindhi)‘ happens to be carrying huge expectations not only for the combinations but also by the virtue of its teaser and the trailer.

Now, this movie’s Diwali release is in ambiguity as multiplexes in Tamil Nadu are going on a strike against the dual taxation system, i.e., another tax called ‘The Local Body Tax’ along with the GST.

Even the producer’s council headed by Vishal has announced no new releases till the dual taxation issue is resolved. So, ‘Mersal’ would be the immediate biggie to be impacted. The tax issues are literally bringing the Tamil Film Industry to a halt.
