Metro Rail delay proves very costly for Telangana

Telangana government stopped the Metro Rail works at three places for 16 months in the name of realignment. The state government finally dropped the proposal at Old Assembly building and instructed the concessionaire to go with the old Metro Plan.

However this 16 months delay will prove costly for the state government. The concessionaire says the project is behind one and half year of the schedule due to the state government’s delay and they have lost as much as 2000 Crore due to that.

The concessionaire is likely to demand this 2000 Crore as compensation for the delay from the state government. More than the compensation, the delay of this prestigious project will dent the image of the government in public.
