Mind-Boggling Offer For KGF 2 For Direct-to-OTT Release

KGF 2 is unarguably the most anticipated film across the nation. The hype around the film can be gauged with the whopping amount sold for Hindi rights. With such a massive craze that KGF 2 encapsulates, the latest mind-boggling buzz has surfaced on it.

It is rumored that KGF 2 makers have been offered a huge amount for a direct OTT release. Yes, you have read it right. The streaming platform has offered an astronomical amount of Rs 255 crores to skip theatrical release and go ahead with direct OTT release.

Producers Hombale Films would be tempted to give in with such an offer, given the grim scenarios. While things are returning for normalcy but given the third wave, even if theaters functions they may only run with an occupancy of 50 percent.

Having said that, the makers wouldn’t like to disappoint scores of fans. They have had in the past stated including actor Yash that KGF 2 is only meant for theaters. And with the film having sold its Hindi rights, music rights, and satellite and digital sterling rights, it would have been in the profit zone by now.

KGF 2 was supposed to hit screens in July but the pandemic played the spoilsport. The latest reports revealed that makers are zeroing on the Christmas holiday season. However, an official word is awaited.
