Mirai Eyes $3M Mark in North America

Teja Sajja and Karthik Gattamneni’s Mirai is making waves in trade circles across Telugu states and North America. In the U.S. market, the film is enjoying an excellent run and is heading towards a terrific first weekend total of about $1.7 million. From a modest start of $400K in premieres to closing near $1.7 million within the first three days, the performance has been outstanding and has exceeded initial trade expectations.

The day-wise figures further highlight this rise. Thursday premieres contributed $400K, Friday added $377K, Saturday saw a remarkable $564K, and Sunday had already reached $350K by 9 PM EST. The Sunday hold is particularly impressive because Telugu films generally face a notable drop in the U.S. on Sundays. Mirai managing to keep momentum through the weekend indicates a strong second-week run.

Advance bookings are also reflecting steady interest. Monday looks decent in early trends, while Tuesday is tracking exceptionally well. Adding to the buzz, Teja Sajja and his team are touring Dallas to promote the film. According to the distributors, Sloka Entertainments, the mix of positive audience response and strong advance sales suggests the film is firmly on track to reach the $3 million.

If Mirai touches this milestone, it will become the highest-grossing film in North America outside the Tier-1 star category. In doing so, it would surpass films like Sankranthiki Vasthunam and Kubera in this region. This achievement would further strengthen Teja Sajja’s box office credibility following his earlier blockbuster HanuMan, which grossed $5 million in the U.S. With this momentum, his upcoming film Zombie Reddy 2 will gain significant attention as a hot property for overseas buyers and audiences.
