The title track Dil Bechara is a typical AR Rahman jazz styled song. Rahman himself also sings it. One is instantly reminded of the similar type of song (the title song) for another blockbuster romantic comedy Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.
The song, however, is not garnering the same reaction as the trailer did. It is mixed so far, with many liking and a few finding it ordinary under the current musical atmosphere. However, rest assured, like a typical Rahman song often described as a slow poison, Dil Bechara title track will also grow.
Famous choreographer Farah Khan is behind the picturization of the song. It is shot in a single take. The video and music seem to be missing sync, when seen as a standalone ‘item’, though. Usually, with Rahman, that is the case as he creates music as part of the narrative. It could be the case here, as well.
Listen to the song below. Sushant Singh Rajput is paired with Sanjana Sanghi in the romantic drama. Mukesh Chhabra debuts as a director with the movie. The Fox Star Studious presentation will stream globally on Disney Plus Hotstar from July 24th.
