Will Srinivasa Mangapuram Reduce the Nani’s Surprise Factor?

Veteran actor Mohan Babu is set to return to the big screen with Srinivasa Mangapuram, which releases this week. After staying away from mainstream Telugu cinema for a while, the senior actor is once again trying to re-establish himself in crucial character roles.

In a recent interview, director Ajay Bhupathi described Mohan Babu as one of the easiest actors to work with. He said the veteran has no airs despite being a senior star, producer, and the founder of an educational institution. According to Ajay, Mohan Babu completely trusted the director’s vision and was always open to suggestions.

The director also dismissed the long-standing perception that Mohan Babu is difficult to work with.

“Those are all myths,” Ajay said, adding that Mohan Babu is a fun-loving and genuine person who deeply values sincerity.

Ajay further revealed that the team worked extensively on Mohan Babu’s look and body language to create a completely fresh screen presence. He even claimed that audiences would forget they were watching Mohan Babu and remember only the character because of the naturalness of his performance.

Mohan Babu is also playing a crucial role in Nani and Srikanth Odela’s much-anticipated film The Paradise. His character is widely expected to be one of the film’s biggest highlights.

If Srinivasa Mangapuram releases first and showcases a transformed Mohan Babu, will it reduce the novelty factor that The Paradise has been banking on? The answer depends entirely on how different the two characters are.

If Mohan Babu’s roles in both films have distinct looks, body language, and emotional arcs, there may not be much overlap. In fact, Srinivasa Mangapuram could even remind audiences of his acting prowess and build more excitement for The Paradise.

However, if both films present him in a similar avatar, The Paradise may lose some of the surprise element that has been generating so much curiosity.

For now, all eyes are on Srinivasa Mangapuram. Its release will not only mark Mohan Babu’s comeback but could also influence how audiences perceive his much-awaited role in The Paradise.
